Strawberries left alone for a couple of hours with sugar added to them will create their own syrup. The clever introduction makes the case that “vegan food = normal food.” The authors move on to a saucy explanation of prepping and cooking terms and some ingredient-specific advice, endlessly entertaining and informative. I know it's not saying much to hear me say it was the best marmalade I'd ever tasted. For her, that sunshine came in the form of canned fruit. And the methods are sound; I've used many recipes and plan to try the rest.
